Studying at Falcons School is an extraordinary experience and we are immensely proud of the opportunities that we offer, which have helped to shape and transform the lives of many young people.
Our Bursary Fund allows us to provide access to our School to students and families who come from different economic backgrounds. This has the dual impact of making a life-changing difference for the individual pupil, while broadening and enhancing the experience and perspectives of all our young people.
The Gold Standard Charitable Trust raises money for bursaries at all school within Inspired Education’s UK family. However, we have a dedicated Falcons School Bursary Fund with the goal of supporting students already enrolled at Falcons who have been awarded bursaries, as well as adding one or more additional pupils each year. Donations to this fund will be designated to students at Falcons School. (If the needs of Falcons School pupils are completely met, funds may be used where the need is greatest among the schools that the Gold Standard Charitable Trust serves).
You can help Falcons School to be better and stronger, and allow us to bring in more wonderful, interesting and talented young people with your gift to our Falcons School School Bursary Appeal.
For more information about the Bursary Appeal, other ways to make a gift at the Gold Standard Charitable Trust email Judith Rivkin here.
We attach great importance to charitable giving at Falcons School and feel it vital that our pupils are fully involved in choosing the charities we support and in sharing ideas for fundraising. When children are educated about charity, they learn to be considerate of others, to be careful of what they have and to show compassion. Our pupils are keen to support charities based in the local area and we have formed strong links with local charities.
Our school charity for 2023-2025, voted by the pupils and staff, is the Royal Trinity Hospice. Their hospice is in Clapham Common and their second-hand shop is on Putney High Street. We have lots of community and fundraising events planned in collaboration with this amazing charity, including our annual fundraising Readathon, alongside volunteering in their shop and supporting the residents by helping in their garden and interacting with residents.
Our Year 6 pupils participate in a business project after the 11+, which culminates in each group designing, creating and selling their products at an Enterprise Fair with all their profits going to their charities of choice. Last year these charities were Dementia UK, Cancer Research UK, Team Margot all receiving a share of over £1000.
Our pupils are often prompted to run stand-alone fundraising events in response to specific disasters around the world:
Action Aid– Non-Uniform day, organised by pupils for the Syria and Turkey Earthquake Appeal
UNICEF – Pupils took part in a ‘Move for Morocco’ fundraising event in September 2023
Rehmat Trust – Pupils organised a karaoke event to fundraise for the floods in Pakistan.
Below is a list of charities we have supported in the past two years:
Wandsworth Food Bank – Our Harvest donation to Wandsworth Foodbank in 2023 weighed in at 191kg which provided over 300 meals for people across the borough.
Roehampton Community Box – Our staff donate regularly to this charity supporting local families in need, most notably as a replacement for their ‘secret Santa’ donations – leading by example to our school community.
Community Heartbeat Trust – this was our school charity for 2021-2023. Pupils raised money over various fundraising events to fund a community AED, soon to be installed in Wandsworth Park.
