At Peregrines Nursery we plan an exciting and challenging curriculum based on our observations of children’s needs, interests, and growth across the seven areas of learning and development, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We provide opportunities for boys and girls to learn through first-hand experiences and discover, make choices, initiate, and think critically and creatively. Our ambitious and well-rounded curriculum strives to teach children new things but also to embed what they have learnt so that they enter Reception Class as confident, lifelong learners.
We plan for a healthy balance between structured high-quality play and focused activities with learning intentions that help each individual child to develop.
Throughout the year the pupils are involved in activities such as World Book Day, Poetry Day, visiting author workshops and educational visits. Visits in previous years have included a trip to Windsor Castle to hunt for dragons, a Listening Walk on our local common and a trip to Kew Gardens to learn about the Rainforest!
The pupils’ educational progress is carefully monitored and shared with parents using the programme Tapestry to keep them fully informed about their child’s development and parents’ conferences are held termly.
