Falcons Twist and Turn To Get The Gold

On Monday, the girls in Years 4-6 took part in a scenic painting workshop with set and costume designer, Charlie Cridlan, as the girls immersed themselves in realising the winning Lion King set designs.

Over the course of the day, they learnt a variety of scenic design techniques including splatter-painting, mastering the use of cable ties and making jungle vines out of old rope. All materials used were recycled from previous productions at school. The girls worked collaboratively and creatively with real agency and were delighted with the results of their labour – it was a pleasure to observe your commitment and enthusiasm, girls!

For many weeks we practised many different topics to prepare us for the day that finally came. As a team, we decided on our topic and our roles. We chose to speak about ‘Why all cars should be electric’.

Epsom College is a grand, beautiful building which took our breathe away. We huddled in and took our places, eagerly awaiting to be called up on stage. Then we heard it: Falcons Girls. We walked calmly up ton to stage and gave it all we could. Although it was very nerve wracking, we would do it all again!

Year 5 Public Speaking Team

Falcons’ Year 5 and 6 gymnastics squad were delighted to attend this year’s Prior’s Field School gymnastics competition. All pupils are required to learn the same routine in their category and consider their body composition, grace in postures, time holding the gymnastic postures and confidence in their performances. We entered the U10 and U12 Beginners in floor and vault and the U12 Novice in floor and vault.

The girls were spectacular and all worthy of their entry into the event. They all performed with confidence and grace and they were all great ambassadors for our school.

We had a great time and even came home with medals, well done everyone!
