17th February 20
On Monday, our Nursery children went to visit their friends at the Falcons Boys’ Pre-Reception. All the pupils enjoyed playing together outside, snack time, being read a story and finally—and much to their excitement— meeting Nibbles and Carrots, the Pre-Prep’s resident guinea pigs. They had a lot of fun and look forward to welcoming back their Falcons friends in the near future!
On Tuesday, we celebrated Safer Internet Day. It was a great opportunity to remind our pupils about being safe online.
New research by the UK Safer Internet Centre released on the 11th February reveals the internet is a fundamental part of young people’s identity, helping them find their own voice offline. The research marked Safer Internet Day, which saw millions of young people, schools, and organisations across the UK explored online safety and the theme of ‘free to be me’.
During their Computing lessons, Year 4 completed a quiz as a class which prompted discussions about taking responsibility, being kind to others, and age limits on social media websites and apps.
Year 2 explored identity online with a class discussion and by designing posters titled ‘Let’s create an Internet where we are free to be…’.

This week, Falcons School for Girls sent 26 boxes of unwanted textbooks, reading books and re-sources to Books2Africa. The Year 6 girls assisted with the box labelling process and we are looking forward to finding out where our donations went.
