Pupils from Years 1 to 6 were offered the opportunity to enhance their sporting skills with industry professionals recently when they took part in a trio of workshops led by coaches from Rugby Union Championship Club, London Scottish.
The workshops aimed to build on the theoretical and practical skills of the well-known sport and the girls all had a fantastic time. They challenged themselves in various warm up drills, before competing against each other in a variety of sporting battles.
When asked if they had enjoyed the workshops, Zofia in Year 5 said “It was awesome!” and Arabella in Year 3 said; “I thought it was amazing. The coaches we really good at teaching. I just really, really enjoyed it!”
Head of Sport, Ms Amber Walters commented: “We believe that all girls should have the opportunity to ‘get involved’ in all sports to promote teamwork, leadership and proficiency.
“The sessions delivered by the London Scottish members were highly engaging for the girls and it is inspiring to see them so passionate about a sport that has traditionally been seen as a man’s game.”
London Scottish, Community Coach, Dan Roberts said: “The girls’ enthusiasm was excellent, they really got stuck in and their ability to learn new skills was brilliant.”
