Falcons Girls Get Sporty!

Falcons Girls braved the cold and enjoyed taking part in a week of sporting activity in February. The week started off with a ‘Skipathon’ raising money for the school’s chosen charity of the year, FiSH, a charity that combats loneliness and social isolation in older and vulnerable people living in Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen. Despite the grey weather the girls showed commendable determination throughout the day. Pre-Reception and Reception pupils completed a skipping obstacle course with help from the House Captains. Year 1 and Year 2 had three tries to complete as many skips as possible on big skipping ropes. While Years 3 to 6 competed to see how many skips they could complete in one minute. All the girls rose to the challenge and worked tirelessly to maximise their sponsorship money for FiSH –  over £1,000 in total!

Throughout the rest of the week the House Captains helped to organise some special lunch time activities to encourage the girls to be even more active. The girls participated in dodgeball, a hoola hoop competition, a skipping competition, bowling and even French Boule which they learnt on French Day.

To end the week, Years 5 and 6 played in the Parents and Daughters Netball Match. Everyone had great fun and the girls showed off their netball skills from the Autumn term.  It was a brilliant way to end such an active and fun week and we are looking forward to next year already!
