Welcome to our new Carnegie Library!

In celebration of the 80^th anniversary of the Carnegie Medal, we are thrilled to opened our very own Carnegie Library. The Carnegie Medal has been awarded every year since 1936 to the book voted the best children’s book of the year by children’s librarians. The winners have included classics by Arthur Ransome, author of Swallows and Amazons, Eve Garnett – The Family From One End Street, David Almond – Skellig, Phillip Pullman – His Dark Materials, and more recently, Patrick Ness – A Monster Calls. And in a collaborative project with Kew Books, we are hoping to source and stock all appropriate titles within the Key Stage Two Library.

The girls held a celebratory assembly on the Friday 3rd March where they all chose their favourite Carnegie book – in fancy dress for World Book Day!

This collection is a very special addition to our already wonderful KS2 Library and the girls feel very lucky and are very proud of the new additions!
